my dad has been moved back to ICU. no, his back isn't causing him more trouble. no, his lung isn't collapsed after all.
he became VIOLENT with the staff as he detoxes from his alcohol addiction and punched a nurse. he also threw his food tray and glass at maggie because she would not bring him a bottle of wine.
so they felt the need to strap him down and force meds through an IV because he won't take them orally.
his VA counselor (who we're pretty sure is an enabler of his) wants him transferred to the VA hospital in columbia, but the springfield hospital is refusing to let him go until he's detoxed.

Good for Maggie for standing up to him! I bet it's not easy. And also, how long does it take to detox??? My God!
who knows. i'm sure if he'd used our method of detox- cheese fries by 9am and intraveneous diet coke, he'd have been fine. nothing brings you back to reality like a greasy burger and a mile walk down vegas blvd in flip flops.
It sounds like the VA hospital will not be so good for him. I bet they sell drugs on the side to patients in there. You always hear or read horror stories about all of that stuff.
I think you should just put him in a room with an Obama punching bag. I am sure he would get most of his aggressions out on that thing.
